Here’s information on doggy health care products that I give our Rouse House gang:

* DVM Pharmaceuticals ChlorHexiDerm Flush. Put it on a cotton ball to clean ears. Get it online at PetCareRx.

* 8in1 Excel Brewers Yeast with Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Garlic. Give one tablet for each 10 pounds of body weight. My dogs love this stuff! Get it at Pet Smart.

* Spring Valley Double Strength Glucosamine 500 mg/Chondroitin 400 mg. This is the kind for people, but it’s also good for dogs. It helps prevent joint problems. I give each dog ½ tablet each day. Get it at Wal-Mart.

Here’s a recipe for some frozen treats that my dogs just LOVE - and yours will, too.

Phil’s Hawaiian Kine Frozen Dog Treats

32 oz. Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt
18 oz. Creamy Peanut Butter
3 cups smashed bananas (about 10)

Put the peanut butter in a microwaveable bowl, and heat until melted (about 1-1/2 minutes). Add the yogurt to the melted peanut butter and mix well. Add the smashed bananas and mix well. Mix well. Spoon into muffin pans lined with paper cupcake cups. Freeze until firm. Remove treats from pans and store in freezer bags. Makes about 36 treats.

Here are some things I do to show my love for my family of dogs…

I keep a supply of inexpensive washcloths on hand to wipe their faces. On hot days, I rinse the washcloths in cold water; on cold days, I rinse it in warm water. I wipe their faces gently, especially around their eyes. They seem to enjoy getting a clean face. I try to do this once/week when I also clean their ears.

Every weekend they get a different kind of “homemade” treat: pieces of red delicious apple, raw egg (puts a shine on their coat), scoops of canned pumpkin (make sure it’s NOT pumpkin pie mix), slices of cheese, or the frozen treat.
